Here are some of the most well-known cuisines that one can find in Istanbul for a delicious taste!
The Mongolian restaurant Go Mongo’s origin goes way back to the hunting BBQ parties in Mongolia. Go Mongo, the Mongolian restaurant with four branches in Istanbul, offers a delicious a la carte menu and open buffet where you can choose the sauces and the meat you like and have it cooked as you wish.
One of the best choices for Italian food in Istanbul is Mezzaluna, opened by Italian businessman Aldo Bozzi and Florentine architect Roberto Magris in 1984 in New York. Turkey was the first place that Mezzaluna opened after America in 1995. Mezzaluna has six branches in Istanbul.
Il Padrino is the other choice for Italian food in Istanbul. Il Padrino, which opened in 1990, is for those who like good Italian food and good wine. It’s located in Ataþehir, on the Asian side of the city.
When it comes to Chinese food or sushi restaurants, there are many choices, like in all big cities in the world. Chinese food is a lifesaver food for city people. It is also delicious! One can easily find a Chinese or sushi restaurant both on the Asian and European sides. China Wok, Chinese In Town, Chinese Unlimited, Dragon House, Ebi Sushi, Fan Fang and Great Hong Kong are some of the great choices.
For the ones who love spicy food, let’s go Indian. Not so many choices though but still there is nothing that one cannot find in this city. Dubb Indian in Sultanahmet has a menu consisting of 70 different Indian food options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. You can also experience Indian and Bollywood dancing as well. Musafir in Taksim, the city center, with one Pakistani and two Indian chefs, is one the biggest Indian restaurants in Turkey. Those who love chicken tikka masala may want to try it.
Taj Mahal in Cihangir is another choice for Indian food. This small and cozy restaurant also has home delivery.
For famous and elegant French cuisine, you may want to see more than wine and cheese. So, you can directly head to L'entrecote de Paris, the famous Parisian steak restaurant, located in Kanyon shopping mall in Levent, Istanbul. Café Clémentine in Akatlar is another good choice for French cuisine in Istanbul. La Maison in Besiktas also offers a nice atmosphere with nice French food.
And Turkish food! Of course there are so many choices for Turkish food in Istanbul! Whether you want homemade food or a delicious kebab, the only thing you should do to taste Turkish food is just go out. Still, for a nice kebab restaurant and a Turkish style dinner, Kösebasi Restaurant, Sahan, Han, Develi, Konyali and Gelik are quality places to try.
